Surface Ceramics Studio is a spacious and accessible workshop for all who are attracted to clay.

From absolute beginners or hobbyists, to professional potters and artists. We provide classes for all levels, excellent studio spaces as well as a curated display of members' work for sale to visitors. The studio has a library of reference books and materials on both historic and contemporary ceramic practices available to members and visitors.

Our Studio and Facilites

Surface Ceramics provide fully accessible studios with on-site facilities to assist creative practitioners with mobility restrictions.

We aim to provide accessible art studios for artists of all abilities; encouraging more diverse artistic projects in the community.

Ceramics drying on shelves

We have a throwing wheel designed for wheelchair users as well as table top wheels with hand controls. All equipment and desks can be height adjusted. Heavy buckets and materials have trolleys which can be easily wheeled around the workshop without lifting.

Our facility has open large plan workspaces, natural light, clay 3D printer, potters wheels, slab roller, clay extruder, two top loading electric kilns, and a glazing spray booth.
